Travelling thru some of old Jugoslavias Adriatic coast is a jewel in Europe. Ancient citys, medievel castles, forts and walls, pristine bays with the most crystal clear water.
For 8 days in late July we packed our bags, jumped on an airplane down to Split and rented a car. We drove thru citys in Croatia with UNESCO status, Game Of Thrones locations, and beautiful views towards the Adriatic. We visited Mostar in Bosnia, saw bridgejumpers drop 23 meters down into the cold clear river that runs thru the city, walked in the footsteps of Cersei in GOT in central Dubrovnik with millions of other tourists, had incredible views from our balcony both in Dubrovnik, Croatia and Sveti Stefan in Montenegro. We drove around Bay of Kotor, visiting small villages by the fjord and watched yachts go by towards Kotor. We walked up many steps above Kotor to get the picture perfect shot over Kotor Bay with the Cruise boats in the bay, saw million dollar yachts parked in Porto Montenegro and relaxed on several spots along Riviera Montenegro (Budva, Sveti Stefan and Becici).
Having a car down here is perfect, here you can drive for an hour or two and you are likely to be in another country as its not that far inbetween. Everything here is close and the scenery is just amazing wherever you go.
Places visited on this tour was Sibenic, Trogir and Dubrovnik in Croatia. Mostar, Medugorje, Kravica waterfall and Blagaj Monastery in Bosnia and Hercegovina and Herceg Novi, Perast, Kotor, Tivat, Porto Montenegro, Budva, Sveti Stefan and Milocer in Montenegro.
This trip was my 4th in Croatia, 2nd in Bosnia and Montenegro.
Lets just say, this isnt my last visit down here.
